Facebook and email:
Be careful with facebook emails, messages, and links. If you do not know who its from or there is no description of the link than ignore it or ask the person if they meant to send the link.
Passwords:
Set good passwords. If your password is a word in the dictionary you may be under risk. Either add numbers to your password or change it to something harder to guess. I have seen a lot of email and facebook accounts taken over recently because of easy to guess passwords.
Virus alerts:
There is another virus that you may come across when visiting websites. If you are browsing the internet and visit a website where you get multiple popups saying that you have multiple viruses, please ignore them by clicking the "X" in the corner. Do not click Yes, OK, Scan Now, or even Cancel. You may have to close your browser all-together. Note what brand of Anti Virus protection you have and only follow its instructions. For example, if you have AVG and it finds a virus, it will tell you that AVG has found a virus.
Backups:
Backup, Backup, Backup! Having a backup means that your files are in two locations such as your computer and another computer, external hard drive, or online. The typical backup solution is to purchase an external hard drive and use the backup software included. Western digital and Seagate are good brands that also have good software included.
